General Membership Meeting
Institute of the Arts, Wyomissing
International Artist
B R U C E B E C K E R
A New York Times Art Critic had this to say about Bruce Becker's oil paintings: "Mr. Becker's work is a unique blending of realism and abstraction. He is a wonderful colorist . . . impressive and deserving of attention. Mr. Becker's work draws comparisons and parallels to works of the great Masters . . .Hopper, Vermeer, Manet." Reviews like this have been given to his work, wherever it has been requested, sold, or shown across the country and in various parts of Europe.
Having sold his first work at the age of eleven, Bruce Becker has always focused his life on the arts. Now he is an internationally recognized artist, humanitarian, teacher, public speaker, and soon to be published author. His recent painting "Kindness and Compassion" became associated with the tragic Amish schoolhouse shootings of October 2006. This image and its message of kindness have touched the hearts of millions worldwide.
Accompanied by several of his paintings, including the original "Kindness and Compassion," Bruce Becker and his presentation at our March 11th meeting is not to be missed.
