AMY STAUFFER: Scratchboard Artist

Amy’s medium of choice is scratchboard. It is ideal for wildlife images and the rendering of fine detail; no paintbrush can produce a line as fine as a razor blade.

Amy says, “My work is inspired by a love for the animal world in all it’s myriad forms. Informed by a background in biology, I approach my wildlife art with the eye of a scientist and the heart of an artist. With this fusion of art and science, I have tried to create a style that is both emotive and exacting. My chosen subjects are generally species with conservation concerns; those on the precipice of extinction. My hope is to raise the consciousness of the viewer to these creatures as sentient individuals, with which we share this planet.”

A Great Opportunity

for New Ideas and Plans for BAA Membership Shows.
We would like a creative person to work with Exhibition Chairman to implement
new ideas and venues for these shows, with the goal of becoming Exhibition
Chairman within a year or two. It is fun and exciting. Contact any Board Member
or Mary Button, 610.582.5341.
